IT Security & Compliance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing Lucence’s IT and cyber security risks and recommending security frameworks and programs that best serve company needs. You will take the lead in installing and managing these systems, conducting updates, maintaining secure passwords and running checks for viruses and spyware.
  • Conducting internal compliance and security audits periodically.
  • Functioning as Lucence’s internal IT helpdesk to ensure that troubleshooting and investigation of issues related to network (WiFi and LAN), IT software (desktop and website applications) and hardware (laptop, desktop, printers, scanners) are done in a way that safeguards the security and integrity of connections in all these areas.
  • Liaising with external IT support vendors to investigate and solve any issues related to network, software and hardware if necessary.
  • Manage and maintain security of network, IT software and hardware
  • Coordinating the asset management of IT hardware, including the purchasing and disposal of IT equipment, to ensure that information confidentiality is safeguarded.

People Operations Executive

Key Responsibilities

This is a generalist role, in which you will need to be highly flexible and ready to support various people-related functions as company needs evolve. While the scope is broad, the spectrum of opportunities to apply your skills for new solutions in a start-up environment is also broad. Some of the key areas you will be involved in include:

  • Driving full-cycle recruitment processes for Lucence’s headquarters and international offices, from sourcing, screening, and interviewing to follow-ups, hiring confirmation and onboarding.
  • Formulating and implementing people programs, frameworks, and policies to improve employee experience and support company business growth. This includes finding new, creative ways to engage potential and existing team members.

Operations Executive

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Operations Director in managing operational plans and all day-to-day operational activities for the company.

Marketing Communications Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing marketing and communications strategies to support Lucence’s business objectives and increase the company’s market share. This would include plans for new product launches, new industry partnerships, media/client engagement events and content development.
  • Managing Lucence’s PR and social media activities.
  • Managing press releases, media articles and all enquiries and interview requests from media.

Bioinformatician/ Data Scientist

Research Scientist

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and optimizing new genomic medicine technologies.
  • Designing, planning and performing laboratory molecular diagnostics experiments to implement new assays and improve current assays.
  • Designing, planning and conducting studies for analytical and clinical verification and validation.
  • Writing, maintaining and updating workflows and protocols for performance of validated molecular diagnostic assays.
  • Participating in internal and external quality assurance programs.
  • Participating in research-oriented projects for clinical validation of tests (in collaboration with external organizations).
  • Performing other relevant duties as assigned to further Lucence’s progress in R&D. This may also include authoring publications to share Lucence’s research and clinical findings.

To be a good fit for this role, you would have:

  • A PhD in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Cancer Biology or its equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in research and development of molecular assays (we may also consider achievements and publications from your PhD course where relevant).
  • Proficiency in molecular techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, real-time PCR, RT-PCR, genotyping and NGS.
  • An excellent grasp of English with good communication and presentation skills and an ability to write short summary reports.
  • The following will be a plus:
      • Knowledge in genomic medicine and liquid biopsy.

Medical Technologist (NGS)

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing specimens, analyzing data and reporting results accurately following established procedures.
  • Designing, planning and performing laboratory molecular tests, in particular, next generation sequencing (NGS).
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
  • Optimizing new genomic medicine technologies.
  • Conducting technical and clinical verification and validation studies.

  • Monitoring inventory and lab supplies in assigned areas.

  • At least a degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences or its equivalent. (PhD holders may be considered for senior roles.)
  • Familiarity with molecular diagnostics techniques, including handling of patient samples, nucleic acid extraction, real-time PCR, genotyping and sequencing etc. (Experience in NGS will be a plus.)
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a team.
